Excellent corrosion resistance. Not a suitable coating for any hardened or alloy fasteners due to hydrogen embrittlement. Parts are immersed in a bath of molten zinc, and while immersed, the zinc reacts with the iron in the steel to create layers of bonded zinc-iron alloys. Parts are commonly topped with a layer of pure zinc at the end of the process.
NOTE: When used with nuts the threads of the nut must be overtapped to accomidated the added thickness of the coating.
Application: Outdoor use, high corrosion resistance required.
Appearance: Dull gray - Can have rough textured appearance.
