Zinc & Dichromate

Simmilar to the standard zinc plating process. Zinc is electrically deposited onto the surface of the fastener by immersing in a plating bath and applying an electrical current. Then an addition of a colored chromate is applied offering added corrosion resistance. Yellow is the most common chromate color, but others colors can be applied depending on the application.

Note: Hardened fasteners will need to be baked to reduce the chance of hydrogen embrittlement.

Application: Offers marginally superior corrosion resistance to clear zinc. Yellow Zinc is the standard plating on Grade 8 bolts, nuts, and flat washers.
